Armenian Wines at London Wine Fair 2023

Armenian wines participated in the prestigious London Wine Fair 2023 exhibition during the period of May 15 to 17.

With the support of the Vine and Wine Foundation of Armenia and the financial assistance from the "Agribusiness and Rural Development Center" (CARD) Foundation and the German Agency for International Cooperation (GIZ), 12 Armenian producers presented their wines at the joint national pavilion.

Armenia participates in the London Wine Fair for the second time, with the aim of popularizing Armenian wine and presenting the rich winemaking history and traditions of our country to the world, thus making the country noticeable on “world wine map".

Republic of Armenia Ambassador to the United KingdomVaruzhan Nersesyan visited the joint national pavilion. The Ambassador highlighted the importance of Armenia's presence at this distinguished exhibition and introducing Armenian wines to the British consumers and businessmen.

London Wine Fair is a prestigious event held since 1981. This is not merely an exhibition, rather a substantial festivity dedicated to wine, wherein lectures, presentations, and master classes are held in the designated areas.

With the end of the London Wine Fair, the Wine Travel Awards competition in the field of wine tourism was concluded. Few months ago, the Vine and Wine Foundation and the Tourism Committee of Armenia had nominated 16 representatives from Armenia to participate in the international competition. Five of the nominees successfully passed the public voting stage, while sommelier Artyom Mkrtchyan won the “Wine Ambassador” nomination.

Wine Travel Awards is a prestigious award that acknowledges attractive destinations for wine tourism, people who create and talk about the wine, as well as makes the country noticeable on world wine map through its wine-making potential.

It is worth noting that The Wine Travel Awards Guide presents Armenia as an attractive wine destination this year.
